Dr. (Lt. Gen.) Prem Prakash Varma is a well-renowned nephrologist with over 30 years of experience. He has served in the Indian Army for over 37 years and is DM/DNB teacher and examiner for over 2 decades.

He is an alumnus of MAMC, AFMC and PGIMER, Chandigarh. He started Renal Transplant Programme in Command Hospital (Pune & Kolkata), Venkateshwar Hospital and Primus Hospital, New Delhi. Till date, he has performed over 1000 renal transplants & renal biopsies.
He has been President of Indian Society of Nephrology (2014-2015), Vice President of ISOT (2018-21), Council member of ISN, ISPD, President of Delhi Nephrology Society (2005-2006), and President of Indian Society of Nephrology – North Zone (2017-2018). He has been Honorary Surgeon to The President of India (2013-2015). He was awarded AVSM, SM & VSM by The President of India. He has been the recipient of many awards & honors.
